Overview
ClipStack is a macOS menu bar utility for capturing multiple screen regions and keeping them ready to paste in order. The current version processes your screenshots and clipboard contents locally on your Mac.
Information ClipStack accesses
- Screen content: ClipStack accesses the screen region you select only when you start a capture. macOS Screen Recording permission is required for this feature.
- Clipboard contents: ClipStack places captured screenshots on the system clipboard so you can paste them into another app. It checks whether another app has changed the clipboard before updating or clearing its own screenshot stack.
- Local temporary files: A screenshot is temporarily written to your Mac while the system capture finishes, then the temporary file is removed.
What ClipStack does not do
ClipStack does not require an account and does not collect, sell, or transmit your screenshots, clipboard contents, or personal information. It does not include advertising, analytics, or cloud upload services.
Data retention and control
Captured screenshots remain in ClipStack's local in-memory stack while the app is running. You can remove individual screenshots or clear the entire stack at any time. When the clipboard is changed by another app, ClipStack clears its local screenshot stack so it does not overwrite content it no longer owns.
Changes to this policy
If ClipStack's data practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date.
